I teach because it matters.
I’m a qualified science and physics teacher with over a decade of classroom experience, from Year 7 all the way to A-Level. I came into teaching via the assessment-only route — effectively an apprenticeship — and earned my QTS through the University of Derby in 2014.
Since then I’ve held roles as Head of Physics, Head of Science, Gifted & Talented Coordinator, and Duke of Edinburgh Manager. I’ve taught triple science and A-Level physics to students who’ve gone on to achieve grade 9s and A/A* grades.
My approach is simple: before a student can love a subject, they need to be able to access it. I reach students who’ve lost their spark for science or maths and help them find it again — by treating them as individuals, making topics relevant to their lives, and bringing genuine enthusiasm to every session.
