About Tidal

Hi, I’m Josh.
This is my story.

I am a qualified science teacher with Qualified Teacher Status and 12 years of classroom experience teaching students across Key Stage 3, GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Triple Science and A-Level Physics. My tuition focuses on building confidence, strengthening understanding and helping students achieve their academic goals through personalised support.Alongside tuition, I am also the creator of Learnt, a learning journal designed specifically for home educating families.

Since then I’ve taught science and physics from Year 7 to Year 13, held roles as Head of Physics, Head of Science and Gifted & Talented Coordinator, and helped students achieve grade 9s and A/A* grades. My maths ability stretches well into GCSE territory too — a necessity when teaching A-Level physics.

My approach is built on a simple truth: children need to feel heard, valued and capable before they can learn. Once you’ve made that connection, they’ll follow you on the learning journey. Tidal exists to make that possible — whether through tuition, apps, resources or training.
